Custom Stickers for Schools, Sports Clubs and Footy Clubs in Australia

Dark green kit bag and two drink bottles with kangaroo mascot stickers on a bench beside a local footy oval

For a school, a sports club or a footy club, stickers do two jobs at once: they raise money and they put the club's name on hundreds of cars, drink bottles and kit bags around town. Few fundraisers cost as little up front or keep advertising the club for as long afterwards.

This guide covers what clubs and schools actually use stickers for, what sizes suit each job, how the fundraising numbers work, and the one thing to sort out before you print anything: who owns the logo.

What do clubs and schools use stickers for?

  • Membership stickers. A dated circle or die cut ("2026 Member") handed out at registration. Members put them on car windows and eskies, which is free advertising for next season's sign-ups.
  • Supporter car stickers. A bumper sticker with the club name and colours, sold at the canteen or given to sponsors.
  • Fundraiser stickers. A die cut of the club mascot or school crest, sold for a few dollars each at games, fetes and presentation nights.
  • Kit and gear stickers. The club logo on helmets, kit bags, drink bottles and equipment tubs, so gear comes home from away games.
  • Event stickers. Carnival, gala day or anniversary designs that become keepsakes.

Which size suits each job?

Job Shape Good starting size
Membership sticker Circle or die cut 7.5–10cm
Supporter car sticker Bumper 5 x 20cm or 6 x 24cm
Mascot or crest fundraiser Die cut 8.5cm
Helmet or drink bottle Die cut or circle 5–6.5cm
Kit bag or equipment tub Die cut 10cm and up
Junior giveaway set Sticker sheet A6 or A5

For a car window, bigger is better than you think: a sticker has to be read from the next car, not from arm's length. Our to-scale size guide shows every size against a credit card.

How much can a sticker fundraiser make?

More than most clubs expect, because printing is cheap per sticker and a few dollars for the club's colours is an easy ask.

Three things make a sticker fundraiser work better:

  • Sell them where people already are: the canteen window, registration day, the presentation night table. A sticker is an impulse buy.
  • Date or number the design. "Premiers 2026" or "Centenary 1926–2026" gives people a reason to buy one now, and a reason to buy again next season.
  • Order the quantity you will sell in a season, not a lifetime. Next year's design is the next fundraiser.

Who owns the club logo?

Sort this out before you print, because it is easy to overlook.

Your own club or school logo is protected by copyright as soon as it is drawn. The catch is that copyright belongs to whoever drew it, and the rule that an employer owns an employee's work does not apply to volunteers or freelancers. If a parent or committee member designed the crest, the club should get a short signed agreement assigning the copyright to the club. The Australian Copyright Council has plain-English guidance on logos.

If the club name or logo is a registered trade mark, the owner has the exclusive right to use it, and anyone else needs permission. IP Australia explains how trade marks work and how to search them.

League and professional club marks are a different matter. AFL and NRL team names, logos and mascots are licensed, and merchandise carrying them needs an official licence. A local footy club can print its own logo, but not a professional club's logo, even if the juniors wear the same colours. If a logo belongs to a league, a professional club or any other organisation, get their written permission before you order.

Schools usually have a brand or style guide for the crest, and merchandise may need sign-off from the principal or the P&C. Get that approval in writing before the order goes in; it saves reprinting.

Will they last on gear that lives outdoors?

Every sticker we print is vinyl with a protective laminate, rated for up to five years outdoors. That is what you want for car windows, helmets and kit bags that sit in the sun at Saturday morning sport. Drink bottles and lunch boxes get handled and washed constantly; see how long vinyl stickers last outdoors in Australia for what shortens a sticker's life and how to avoid it.

For helmets and car windows, apply to a clean, dry surface and press from the centre out. Our guide to applying a vinyl decal without bubbles covers the technique.

One design or several?

Our bulk pricing is per design, so 200 of one design costs much less than 20 each of ten designs. If you want a set, such as every age group's mascot or a design per house, a sticker sheet prints them all together as one design, and every sheet carries the full set. The difference between the cuts is explained in die cut, kiss cut or sticker sheet.

When should we order?

Production takes 1–2 business days, then standard post, so ordering two weeks before registration day, the carnival or the presentation night leaves room for an artwork check and a printed proof if you want one. Our team checks every file free of charge and will flag thin lines or small text that will not print well at your chosen size.

For clubs and schools, start with die cut stickers, bumper stickers or sticker sheets. Most shapes start at ten, we print in Sydney, and standard shipping is free Australia-wide.
